You might associate cheese or chicken with Twisties, but think again, because this new flavour has got everyone talking.

“We’ve been experimenting with Australia’s best-loved flavours for years, with Twisties,” Twisties’ Brand Manager Simon Odisho said.

“Tangy Pickle is the ultimate reward for Aussie pickle lovers. Inspired by a craving taking over the internet, and irresistibly moreish, we’re confident this punchy, tangy flavour hit will have you salivating and snacking from noon till night – maybe even via the shower.”

Last year, Twisties famously released its Sour Blueberry flavour, which promised to turn tongues blue.

And this year, it’s leaning into the love of pickles with this new savoury craze.

Still not convinced?

Food reviewer Nicholas Vavitis said they smell like McDonald’s pickles and have a strong pickle aftertaste.

TikTok food creator Russ Eats said the same about the aftertaste and that the chip wasn’t overly sour.

“Honestly, nailed the flavour,” he said in his frank review, which has been watched almost 30,000 times. “Super moreish, you just want to smash them, but they’re not tangy.”

So if you’re not a major pickle fan, but still want to give it ago, it isn’t as full-on as you’d think.

And other Aussies can’t get enough of them.

“These were bloody awesome! Ate a hole bag this arvo 😭,” one fan wrote on Instagram.

“Got mine today they are the bomb,” another wrote in agreement.

Pickles have taken the internet by storm, with fans obsessing over their crunch, and sour and tangy flavours.

According to research, a third of people choose pickle-flavoured treats over beloved Aussie staples, including lamingtons, meat pies and the chicken parmie.

The good thing is, you can try them now at any 7-Eleven store across the country, before they’re rolled out nationally on April 30.
