The new royal baby’s christening gown is worth how much?!

Prince William and Kate will adorn their baby in garments fit for a king

Prince William and Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge are expecting their third child in April and royal watchers everywhere are eagerly awaiting the arrival.

Like, the baby’s older siblings, the new royal will be christened in the traditional lace gown that they wore for the service.

But you will never guess how much the traditional gown is worth.

A UK expert tells New Idea that the garment is ‘impossible to value’ as it’s such a coveted item and nothing similar to it has ever been sold before.

But, the expert estimates that it would sell for well over $50 million!

The couple’s third child will be adorned in the Honiton lace and white satin gown, first used at the christening of James, Viscount Severn in 2008.

The frilly cream outfit is a replica of the christening gown made for Queen Victoria’s eldest daughter and used for all royal baptisms until Lady Louise Windsor in 2004.

Along with Prince George and Princess Charlotte, the new royal baby will be the eighth child to be christened in the gown.

It was created by the Queens dresser, Angela Kelly and features all the same elements of the original gown.

And, reportedly the gown was even dipped in tea to give it an antique look.
