Prince Harry’s Spare memoir is ALREADY in the bargain bin

The Heir and the who cares!?

Much has been said about Prince Harry’s upcoming memoir, Spare, not all positive.

Let’s be honest, the title is controversial; a reference to the British media’s infamous characterisations of Prince William and Prince Harry as ‘The Heir, and The Spare,’ respectively.

Regardless, it was expected the book would be an enormous success from a sales perspective.

However prior to the memoir’s release on January 10, WHSmith offered the book at half the retail price. And despite the sale and it being labelled one of the most anticipated memoirs, no crowds showed for the memoirs official release in Birmingham city centre.

Even one of Sydney’s most popular bookstores, Dymocks was also deserted on the day of Spare‘s release; surprising as they even offered the first 25 customers to purchase the book an entry into a draw for a $250 digital Dymocks gift card.

Prices for the memoir vary across different platforms in Australia, ranging from $35 to $50 (if you’d like to purchase Spare, you can do so here).

The question on everyone’s lips is whether Spare will ensure Harry and the royal family never reconcile. And all signs currently point to yes.

In fact, a palace insider told OK Magazine that Prince William “has barely spoken” to Harry since Spare was first announced to the public.

This isn’t the only rift Spare has created; another insider has claimed that King Charles III plans to prohibit Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle from attending the official coronation ceremony if Harry’s memoir portrays Queen Consort Camilla in a negative light (spoiler: it does).

“Almost everything Charles has done over the past 20 years has, in one way or another, been about getting Camilla accepted by the public,” the source said.

“He loves her. He is incredibly protective of her and he couldn’t do it without her. Even [Queen Elizabeth] finally accepted that.”

“It is one thing for Harry to attack Charles, he can take it on the chin, but if Harry forces him to choose, by laying into Camilla in his book, I have no doubt he will choose Camilla,” the insider concluded.

Of course, as soon as the title of Prince Harry’s memoir was announced, the entire royal family reportedly started “dreading” its release.

They’re also concerned that Spare as a title is “controversial” and “provocative”.

As a royal insider said, “That title is loaded and it does not bode well.”
