Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have had their first major blow-up, sources say, and tensions have risen so intensely the Duchess of Sussex has fled Britain for her hometown of Toronto, OK! USA reports.
According to royal insiders, emotions have been running high inside Harry and Meghan’s Nottingham Cottage home for weeks, with the tipping point finally coming over the prince.
Insiders claim the argument quickly spiralled out of control with Meghan ‘crying about how trapped she feels by royal rules’ and ‘Harry venting about how mortifying it’s been for him to deal with her family’s constant publicity-grubbing’
As if Thomas Markle’s staged paparazzi photographs hadn’t caused enough damage to his daughter in the days leading up to her May 19 wedding, the retired lighting director has been on a media blitz ever since Meghan and Harry wed.
In addition to revealing details of his private conversations with the couple, Thomas recently compare the royal family to a ‘cult’.
Meghan’s half-sister Samantha also chimed in, tweeting: ‘If our father dies, I’m holding you responsible Meg.’
Between everything, the duchess reached breaking point, OK! reports.
‘She decided that flying up to Toronto to see her old friends would be just the thing to clear her head,’ shares the source.
‘Meghan hopes that a few days apart from Harry will help simmer the tensions, but it seems like the honeymoon phase is over.’
The time apart proved to have worked, as the two stepped out together to attend a charity gala of Hamilton.
The couple looked to be in good spirits.

Earlier in the year it was reported that the Duke of Sussex dramatically ripped off his wedding band, while in a heated row with his new wife.
‘Harry and Meghan hadn’t even had time to unpack from their honeymoon when tempers exploded,’ a royal insider told the Enquirer.
‘They’re putting on a loved-up display of affection in public to please Harry’s grandmother, Queen Elizabeth.
‘But behind palace doors, cracks in their union are being blown wide open as Meghan faces the reality of royal life.’
The newlyweds – who reportedly just announced to friends they were having twins – have vowed to not let Meghan’s pregnancy impact their royal responsibilities, the Enquirer claims.
According to a palace insider, it was the couple’s busy schedule that led the couple to come to blows.
‘Instead of trying to work through their disagreement, the hardheaded pair started bickering – big time,’ the insider spills.
‘They’ve both very strong willed, and things escalated to the point where Meghan was in tears and Harry walked out.’
According to the bombshell report, Meghan ran to nearby Prince William and Kate Middleton for advice.
‘Meghan poured her heart out to her new sister-in-law,’ the insider added. ‘Kate is very much aware of the pressures Meghan has faced since joining the family.
‘Kate urged Meghan to not let a silly fight tear her and Harry apart.
‘Kate told Meghan, ‘You are the love of Harry’s life and will be the mother of his children.’
The royal family is yet to respond to the US reports.
