Karl and Lisa humiliated in searing Logies speech

The former co-hosts brutal blow.

Dave Hughes has slammed Australia’s most prestigious TV personalities in a harsh opening monologue at the 60th Annual TV Week Logie Awards – mentioning everything from Karl Stefanovic’s Ubergate scandal to Lisa Wilkinson’s defection to Channel Ten.

The comedian joked, ‘Karl, whether it’s an cab or Uber mate, leave a tip. They don’t have to make any extra money.’

He continued: ‘You shouldn’t have been b***hing about your work colleagues. You shouldn’t have.’

Karl, visibly embarrassed, was holding up a sign that read ’13 CABS’, the number to call a taxi.

Hughes then alluded to the ongoing rumours of tension between Karl and Georgie ever since the scandal.

Addressing an awkward-looking Georgie, who was seated next to Karl, he joked: ‘I’m sure Georgie is very happy, isn’t she there. Still on the fence Georgie or did you take a pale off it and hit him in the head with it?’

The camera pans to Gardner, who is also visibly uncomfortable next to Stefanovic.

Dave continued to slate the pair, ‘Imagine Karl and his brother, the bunk beds at home as kids, talking smack about mum. She’s outside the bedroom: ‘I can hear you d**k heads!’’

Dave then turned his attention to Lisa Wilkinson, who defected to Channel Ten earlier this year after Channel Nine refused to give her pay parity with then co-host Karl.

The comedian said, ‘Lisa, you left for pay parity I know. You weren’t getting that were you? No. You are not getting at the ‘The Project’ either…You’re earning double. Don’t blame me for that joke…Blame Carrie and Waleed.’

Hamish Blake and Andy Lee also took to the stage to slam Lisa.

Joking that The Project host had gotten a ‘regretful’ tattoo on the Gold Coast on the night prior to the prestigious award show, the two comedians showed a photo of Lisa’s ‘foot’ with a tattoo.

The joke photograph showed a tattoo on an ankle, with the Channel Nine logo crossed out and a Channel Ten logo replacing it.
