Estranged couple Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux recently had an explosive showdown as they came face-to-face for the first time in Los Angeles last weekend, as New Idea can exclusively reveal.
Even though Jen and Justin said when they announced their split that they are still friends and love each other, insiders say the break-up was ugly and their divorce is set to be one of the worst Hollywood has ever seen!
Despite putting on a friendly front after nearly bumping into each other at Jimmy Kimmel’s son’s birthday party, behind closed doors the pair are at each other’s throats!
The whole debacle is making things very awkward for their close friends, as they have had to choose sides.
Selena Gomez recently defriended Justin on social media and Jen was furious that Justin has hung out twice with her pal Emma Stone. It’s getting very awkward in their mateship circle, as they had a lot of joint friends.
An insider told New Idea that the duo met before the bash as Justin collected the rest of his possessions from their Bel Air mansion, but the encounter turned ugly with Jen ending up inconsolable.
‘Justin flew into LA to see Jen face-to-face and clear the rest of his belongings, and the meeting ended up in an explosive showdown,’ a source told New Idea.
Jen is furious he’s been out with younger girls and embarrassing her, while also trying to steal away her friends.
‘Jen was fuming with Justin for publicly flaunting so many women in her face since their split.
Jen is getting ready for their divorce battle, with information she’s been compiling on him,’ the source spilled. Justin on the other hand is angry Jen’s now with Brad so soon after they split.
‘Justin accused Jen of jumping to conclusions and reminded her how it was she who pulled the plug on their marriage. He reminded her of her closeness to Brad and how distant he felt from her due to her renewed friendship with her ex-husband, especially as she’d banned him from any communication with his ex-girlfriend of 14 years, Heidi Bivens.
‘Justin brought a team of movers in to help clear his belongings, along with a member of his legal team who was also present, and Jen broke down when she saw how cold and official Justin was being.
He was showing little emotion despite her clearly being incredibly tearful and full of emotion.’
To make matters worse, when the pair found out they were both attending Billy’s birthday party, they had to ensure their time slots didn’t clash.
Jen arrived at 12.15pm and left around 2pm, while Justin made a quick appearance staying for only 40 minutes.
The party showed just how bad things have become – that the once happy couple now can’t even bear to be in the same room as each other.
‘Jen was horrified when she found out Justin was going to Billy’s first birthday and heard he’d been given a time slot different to hers.
‘Jimmy and his wife Molly were always Jen’s friends first and foremost, so she felt incredibly betrayed knowing they’d not only invited Justin but given them shifts to adhere to.’
After the event, reports flooded in that the pair nearly bumped in to one another, with Jen looking nervous while Justin acted totally normal.
‘Jen arrived just 10 minutes after Justin had left and was in a terrible state – shaking and admitting to having a series of anxiety attacks. She was feeling paranoid at her close friends, who she now felt were taking sides and talking about her behind her back,’ the source said.
Publicly both Jen and Justin show they’re in good form, but behind closed doors Jen has vowed revenge on her ex. After his behaviour over the weekend, the actress has told pals she plans to ruin his reputation and bring him down.
‘Jen’s fuming with Justin and their face-to-face meeting this weekend has only made things worse, and she’s out to get justice for how he’s treated her,’ the source added.
‘She’s out to get revenge.’
