This week, Meghan Markle has made two royal appearances – one alongside Prince Harry and one solo – and the Duchess of Sussex has opted to show off a brand new hairstyle.
Known for her signature waves or ‘messy bun’, the Duchess ditched her go-to for a pin-straight blowout and Cosmopolitan has claimed its a sneaky trick to hide her pregnancy.
‘Because I am a journalist and I care about these things, I combed through 60+ pages of the latest pictures of Meghan and found that she hasn’t worn her hair like this since at least before her wedding to Prince Harry,’ an article reads.
According to the publication, the Duchess wants to take the attention off of her belly.
It’s not that outrageous of a theory though, with Kate Middleton also opting to debut a brand new hairdo just days before Kensington Palace announced she was pregnant with her first child, Prince George, and then again just before announcing her pregnancy with Princess Charlotte.
In 2017, Kate Proctor from the UK’s Evening Standard was the first to suggest that the Duchess of Cambridge had tricked fans with a new hairstyle to conceal her growing belly.
‘Pattern is Duchess of Cambridge changes her hairstyle, people concentrate on her head, then announces pregnancy,’ Proctor wrote on Twitter in September 2017.
