Eagle-eyed royal fan notices ‘a face’ in Kate’s dress

Kate Middleton is known for her consistently sensational sense of style.

And true to form, the Duchess of Cambridge looked typically chic for an outing to a north London primary school on Tuesday in a bespoke shamrock green dress by British label Eponine.

But despite her effortless elegance, eagled-eyed fans honed in on one particular detail of the ensemble – likening the buttoned pocket embellishment to an angry cartoon face.

One Twitter account dubbed the Duchess “the world’s angriest royal” in a jab at the creased scowl on the front of her dress.

Other comparisons drawn on social media included Kermit the Frog, Shrek, Evil Pea and Oscar the Grouch from Sesame Street.

For her appearance at Lavender Primary in Enfield Town, Duchess Catherine paired the statement jumper dress with L.K. Bennett boot heels, black tights and gold pave diamond earrings from her favourite jewellery designer Kiki McDonough.

The mother-of-three carried a classic Mulberry clutch and wore her glossy brunette locks in her trademark bouncy blow dry.

The engagement marks the start of Kate’s patronage of Place2Be’s Children’s Mental Health Week, which involves speaking to pupils and their parents about the link between nutrition, regular exercise and positive mental outlook.

Kate is a long-time devotee of London-based brand Eponine which she has worn to numerous official appearances in recent years.

The label is known for its pristine tailoring, use of oversized buttons and preference for bright block colours.
