David Oldfield’s shocking comment stuns viewers

The politician lasted less than a week in the jungle.

Controversial campmate David Oldfield lasted less than a week in the I’m A Celebrity jungle, and now the former One Nation founder has shocked viewers with his parting words.

Oldfield, who is known to have a bizarre and cruel relationship with his wife Lisa Oldfield, said farewell to his campmates on Sunday night’s episode.

While saying goodbye to his wife, Oldfield remarked: ‘Remember, if you see a leopard – leap in front of it.’

David then proudly repeated the ‘joke’ to host Julia Morris during his exit interview, saying he ‘hoped it was still there’ when Morris noted that a leopard had been sighted near camp earlier that day.

Earlier on Sunday night’s elimination episode, the married couple were involved in a heated argument. The explosive fight made other campmates so uncomfortable that comedian Fiona O’Loughlin encouraged to two to breakup for the sake of their two children, while Jackie Gillies insisted the two would need ‘intensive’ marriage counseling.

Viewers celebrated at the news that the much-hated campmate had been booted:

Oldfield is the fifth celeb to leave the jungle this season. Contestants Kerry Armstrong and Tiffany were previously eliminated from the show, while tennis star Bernard Tomic and boxer Mundine quit.
