It’s been three years since former Today host Karl Stefanovic split with his wife of 21 years, Cassandra Thorburn.

Together, they share son Jackson, 20, daughter Ava, 12, and son River, 12.

Cassandra recently admitted that co-parenting is ‘very difficult’ and a ‘massive challenge.’

Speaking on this week’s The Juggling Act podcast, the 48-year-old said “Co-parenting I think is a massive challenge. Even if there’s an amicable agreement between the parties, it still becomes hard.”

The journalist told Sarah Harris and Melissa Wilson that there are ways to ‘navigate’ co-parenting,’ but there’s no ‘textbook’ answer.

“You’re leading separate lives, you’re no longer in a co-environment. So co-parenting… that’s a big word,” Cassandra began.

“There obviously is a way to navigate it. I don’t think there’s a textbook of instructions in point form (where) you can guarantee you’re going to get that end result.”

Recently, Cassandra told Studio 220 that she refuses to pay her children pocket money when it comes to doing chores around the house.

Despite not paying her kids for tasks around the home, the Dancing With The Stars contestant did admit she gives her kids a weekly allowance, that differs depending on how old they are.

“Ah, no. I don’t pay them to do chores. I give them pocket money based on their age. Like, if you’re 12, you get $12 a week. That’s what I’ve always done,” Cass revealed.

Cass continued: “I don’t put money to chores. I do ask them to do things. And they are expected to do things. But the whole bribery thing. No. Nah. It just doesn’t work.”
