Lovable James Trethewie vied for the heart of Sophie Monk on the third season of The Bachelorette.
But while the Tasmanian-born financial advisor failed to win the series, he succeeded in stealing the affection of the Australian public.
So much so producers have cast him in the hotly anticipated Bachelor in Paradise 2019 which is set to air soon.
Soon after Sophie Monk gave showed him the door, 33-year-old James found what seemed to be happily ever after with business consultant Alice Summers.
But fans were saddened when Daily Mail Australia reported the couple had split in September 2018 after months without social media photos and the final nail in the relationship: unfollowing each other on Instagram.

“We broke up about three to four months ago. I don’t think many people know, I’m not the kind of guy to go out there making a big public announcement,” James said at the time.
“I guess we both realised as we started to getting to know each other and merging our lives more, how different our personalities were and there were aspects that weren’t really compatible together.”
Their separation paved the way for Trethewie to throw his hand in the ring for Bachelor in Paradise in the hopes of finding love on the tropical sands of Fiji.
Punkee previously described the cheeky surfer as their “all time Bachie crush” so we expect James will have no trouble finding a leading lady on the Network Ten spin off!
