It's a pretty sweet pad if we do say so ourselves...

Comedian Andy Lee has taken a huge step forward in his relationship with entrepreneur girlfriend Rebecca Harding, the pair commencing multi-million dollar renovations on their “dream home” – a property the couple purchased for $8 million back in 2021.

In what is an absolute monster of a renovation project (and that’s putting it lightly), the derelict Hawthorn manor is set to be transformed from drab to fab, with the lovebirds expected to spend a whopping $5m flipping the neglected estate into their future home.

According to plans submitted to Boroondara Council, Andy, and Bec are sparing no expense.

Their new riverside home is set to include a golf simulator, pool, theatre, gym, “mail room”, bar, cellar, large outdoor dining and entertainment terrace, and a 22.7 sqm “waiting area.”

A secondary building is also set to be constructed, The Herald Sun revealing in April that a tunnel would be built connecting the main house with the additional property.

Originally, the Italianate mansion was built in 1876, in what would have been one of the premier’s private residences in Melbourne.

But, as one would expect, after a decade of sitting unoccupied, the once glorious home is a shadow of its former self.

Despite purchasing the property in 2021, Andy and Bec only recently shared snaps of their future home with their followers on social media.

Presumably, they were waiting for the local council to approve their renovation plans before publicly discussing the property.

In a series of snaps, Andy shared four photos and one video taken of him, Bec, and their terrier dog Henri visiting the property in July 2023.

“Back at the house today. It seems the ceiling might need a little bit of patchwork but the rest is perfectly ready to be lived in 👌🏼,” Andy joked.

“Just ask any of the pigeons and possums,” he added.

A month later, Andy and Bec returned to their future home, sharing even more snaps of the property – and the state of disrepair it had fallen into.

“Back at the house this week with the team that have courageously agreed to take on the project,” Andy shared to his Instagram account on August 23rd.

“We are having discussions on whether to keep the grass on the inside of the house or just leave it outside like most people do. What ya think?,” he then joked, tagging architectural design company Flack Studio, which he and Bec have hired to help them with the ambitious renovation project.

We can’t wait to see how this all unfolds!
