Victoria Beckham has made a formal statement about David Beckham in the wake of reports that the couple were separating following a shocking love child scandal.
The 44-year-old fashion designer, who shares four children – Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz and Harper – with the 43-year-old soccer star, spoke openly how she balances her personal and professional life.
According to Hello! magazine, Victoria said at the Forbes Women’s Summit in New York City, ‘I try really, really hard. I try hardest to be the best mother.
‘I am trying to be the best wife and the best professional. When I get home I try to put the phone down and spend time with the children and spend time with David,’ she continued.
Victoria also took the time to praise her husband of almost 19 years for always supporting her.
‘I have the support of an incredible husband. We really are equal with everything we do at home with the children,’ Victoria said. ‘When I’m away he’s the one doing the school run and doing the cooking.’
Recently, rumours and drama surrouding the two’s marriage came to a dramatic head when a rogue email claimed David was having an affair with Harper’s teacher – and that the unnamed woman was now pregnant.
The power couple were quick to slam reports, with a spokesperson dramatically responding that the divorce rumours were a ‘crock of s***’.
The unnamed woman’s father even spoke out, slamming the report as ‘fake news’ in The Sun newspaper.
However outlandish the claim, the long-time lovebirds made every attempt to make it seem as though all is well in their 19-year marriage. Victoria posted a series of gushing Instagram posts to back up their united front, including a sweet photo with Harper, captioned: ‘We love and miss u @davidbeckham.’
Meanwhile, David quickly flew in to London from the US and was by his wife’s side as they attended the Kent & Curwen Men’s London Fashion Week show.
But while the pair were photographed together – and, afterwards, Victoria quickly Instagrammed a loving snap of them at the event in an obvious bid to silence the rumours – onlookers noticed the pair arrived and sat separately.
Sadly, the reason for that may now be becoming more clear. Behind the scenes, there’s speculation that the Beckham’s marriage is in trouble, with Victoria apparently telling friends, it has been ‘for years’.
‘They’ve made a pact that if they were to split they would wait until Harper is at least 11 years old and entering secondary school before going their separate ways. If they made that decision, and until then, they’ll continue to show the public they are together as a family,’ the insider tells New Idea.
