A royal success!

As quickly as it began, Meghan and Prince Harry’s official royal tour of Africa has come to an end – and reports out of the palace hint that the Queen is absolutely ‘delighted’ with how the 10-day trip went.

“This tour has become a brilliant success,” explained royal commentator Neil Sean on Today Extra.

“We are hearing Her Majesty the Queen is indeed thrilled with some positive PR.”

And positive PR is just what the Duke and Duchess of Sussex needed after coming under intense public scrutiny of late –most recently for taking four private-jet flights in just 11 days.

Meghan was a hit during the royal tour!

“Things have gone really wrong for them,” royals biographer Penny Junor told The Times, adding that people were “just disappointed”.

But the past 10 days have turned it all around, it seems – in part thanks to little Archie Mountbatten-Windsor, who stole hearts when video was released showing the 4-month-old high-fiving Archbishop Desmond Tutu in Cape Town!

Sharing footage of baby Archie wasn’t the only move that put the royal pair back into the public’s good graces, however. Their down-to-earth approach helped them to connect with people in a way they previously hadn’t, say insiders.

“What [the Queen] likes, apparently, is the informality of this tour,” said Neil.

“We’ve seen Meghan and Harry dancing, clapping, all that sort of stuff – it’s not the sort of things theQueen would necessarily do. But she does like the fact that members of her family do interact when they are on tour.”
