According to a royal insider, the pair, who have remained close ever since they divorced and currently live together at the Royal Lodge in Windsor, have advised the Queen that they don’t want to put it off any longer and plan to wed in a matter of months.

The wedding was originally set to take place just days before Sarah’s 60th birthday on October 15, however, after attending her brother’s “amazing” wedding over the weekend, the Duchess of York made the decision to bring the day forward.

Andrew Ferguson, a farm manager, married his long-time partner in a beautiful ceremony on Saturday June 15, surrounded by their family and friends.

“My father would be so proud of Andrew and Florence,” Sarah gushed.

“I am so happy for them both. To have a fellow redhead in the family is a joy, too!”

And according to a royal insider, Sarah has not stopped talking about her own special day since the celebration.

“Fergie had such an amazing time at her brother’s wedding that it’s made her change her mind,” reveals our insider.

“Seeing how happy her brother was, how in love he and his bride were – and seeing all the joy on the day, it really made her want to push their wedding forward.

“She sees no reason to wait and so has told Andrew she wants to marry in the next month or so.”

In fact, the couple have already discussed the plans with their daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, and both have given their full support.

“They’re busy organising all the details with the palace and we are expecting an announcement any day now,” adds our source.

Adding further excitement for the family, Eugenie is also set to officially announce her pregnancy in the coming days, after she was accidentally caught sharing the exciting news with Kate Middleton and Zara Philips at Royal Ascot.

An image captured on the day shows the 29-year-old gently holding her belly while Kate and Zara appear overjoyed.

And she will no doubt have the support of Kate, who is said to have already been giving her advice on motherhood.

“Everybody experiences the same struggles,” the Duchess of Cambridge previously told mothers at UK charity Family Action.

“It’s so hard, you get a lot of support … in the early days … But after that there isn’t a huge amount of books to read.”

Meanwhile, Fergie is said to be delighted at the prospect of becoming a grandmother.

“Fergie just loves the idea of them being a family when the baby arrives,” the insider goes on to say.

“It’s such a special time – and Fergie just wants everything to be perfect.”

Reflecting on her unbreakable bond with the duke, Sarah admits she has always held a flame for her ex and the duo are “completely compatible”.

“Andrew is the best man I know,” she said in an interview with The Daily Mail.

“We are so happy with the way we are right now. We enjoy each other’s company; we allow each other to blossom. I know it sounds like a fairytale but that’s what we are.”

Speaking candidly about their divorce, the 59-year-old is open and honest.

“I didn’t want a divorce but had to because of circumstances,” she told Harper’s Bazaar in 2011.

“We’re a family unit and we lead by example,” she added during an interview with Hello! magazine.

“We support each other emotionally and we support each other health-wise … I think one thing I’ve done incredibly well – although I say it myself – is [be] a good mum. And I think my girls show that.”

More than 500 million people tuned in to watch the Duke and Duchess of York wed at Westminster Abbey the first time.

And while preparations are well under way for Sarah’s second walk down the aisle, insiders say the event will be very low-key.

“It will be very intimate and only a few family members and friends will attend.”
