Ingredients
Method
Cut each hotdog crossways into three equal lengths (about 5cm each).
Place pastry sheets on a flat surface. Cut each sheet lengthways into 5cm wide strips. Cut each strip in half crossways. You will need 18 strips. (Discard the remaining 2 strips.)
To make rolls, spread about ¼ teaspoon mustard over each piece of pastry. Place about ½ teaspoon caramelised onion at the end closest to you. Top with a piece hot dog. Roll up to enclose.
Cut two x 1cm deep slits in the top of each roll to cut through the pastry and hot dog.
Place rolls, seam-side down, on a large oven tray lined with baking paper. Brush with egg.
Cook in a very hot oven (220C) for about 18 minutes, or until pastry is golden brown and crisp.
Serve hot with tomato sauce.
