Donald Trump breaks royal protocol when meeting with the Queen

And royal fans are not happy.

Queen Elizabeth II and US President Donald Trump met over the weekend, and his lack of royal etiquette has angered fans around the world.

The two leaders met for the first time, and Twitter immediately blew up when Trump noticeably walked in front of the Queen during their walk while inspecting her Guard of Honour.

In the now viral clip, the 92-year-old monarch appears to make a hand gesture as they turn a corner. She then attempts to pass behind the president, who stops walking and stops the monarch in her tracks. She is forced to walk to the side of the president, where they continue walking.

Grant Harrold, a former butler for the royal family, told ITV News that letting the Queen lead in every scenario is a top rule in royal protocol.

The President and the First Lady were treated to afternoon tea at Kensington Palace following the Guard of Honour.
