Prince Harry and Meghan Markle gifted new castle from Queen Elizabeth

What are grandmas for!

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have made Nottingham Cottage, a two-bedroom home in the compound of Kensington Palace, their home, but the royal couple could be adding another piece of real estate to their collection.

Queen Elizabeth II has gifted the couple Adelaide Cottage on the Windsor Castle estate, Mail On Sunday reports.

The cottage is the former residence of Peter Townsend, the famous lover of the Queen’s late sister Princess Margaret.

The residence features a marble Greco-Egyptian fireplace and a main bedroom featuring ‘coved ceiling with gilded dolphins and rope ornament reused from the royal yacht Royal George,’ Historic England says.

The cottage on the Windsor Castle estate also holds special meaning for the newlyweds, who tied the knot at St. George’s Chapel on the grounds.

‘Windsor is a very special place for Prince Harry, and he and Ms. Markle have regularly spent time there during the last year,’ a Kensington Palace source said.

It’s well documented that Her Majesty likes gifting her loved ones homes.

Following their May 19 wedding, the Daily Mirror reported that Queen Elizabeth had gifted the newlyweds York Cottage on her Sandringham Estate.

She previously bestowed Anmer Hall, also at Sandringham, to Kate Middleton and Prince William.
