Meghan Markle won’t be allowed to have a baby shower

More harsh royal rules the duchess must follow.

If and when Meghan Markle were to become pregnant, there is one pregnancy tradition the newly minted Duchess of Sussex will not be allowed to take part in.

According to The Sun, the new royal will not be allowed to have a traditional baby shower.

Should Prince Harry and his new bride decide to have children, the 36-year-old former Suits star will have to five the pre-birth party a miss, and it’s all because of royal tradition.

Royal expert Victoria Arbiter claims throwing an elaborate baby shower is ‘unheard of’ for members of the British royal family.

While the royals are ‘very wealthy…a lavish baby shower would be seen as highly inappropriate…there’s nothing they can’t go out and buy themselves.’

Baby showers are not as hugely popular a tradition in the UK as they are in Meghan’s native country, where the average American reportedly spends between $250-$1300 per shower.

Despite the fact she won’t be allowed to host a royal baby shower, Meghan will be allowed to accept gifts from friends and family.

Although the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are yet to confirm any baby news, a royal cameraman tells New Idea exclusively that a royal baby is well on its way, with Meghan and Harry soon welcoming the pitter-patter of tiny feet.

The loved-up couple may have been keeping mum for some time, as the royal cameraman reveals that Meghan’s placement at the back of the balcony during the Trooping the Colour celebrations on June 9 was actually a strategic move to hide any sign of a baby bump.

There are plenty of whispers going around the London media and royal staff that the couple are definitely expecting.

‘The palace is overjoyed by the news that Harry and Meghan are already expecting their first child – it’s all that anyone can talk about,’ a senior aide tells New Idea.

‘At Ascot last week and during Celia McCorquodale’s wedding, everyone was talking about the baby whispers – especially given that she was wearing such a loose, billowing dress and refused to drink any champagne on both occasions.

Harry was being so protective of her, making sure she was happy and safe – it was lovely to see,’ the source adds.
