Meghan Markle makes Prince Harry skip family tradition of grouse hunting

The royal has been doing the tradition every year since he was little.

Every year since her was little, Prince Harry has gone grouse hunting with his family in Balmoral, Scotland. However, this year – when the royal family embarked on their yearly ritual, the 33-year-old royal was notably absent.

It was a family affair, with Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles, Kate Middleton and even Prince George, stepping out for the annual family hunt.

Express has reported that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex opted to skip this year’s event due to Meghan’s beliefs and views on animal welfare.

This is not the first time Prince Harry has skipped a royal family tradition for new wife Meghan.

Back in December, shortly after the couple announced their engagement, Harry also skipped the family’s Boxing Day hunt. This decision reportedly left the royal fam ily ‘stunned’.

‘Harry loves it and has always been out there on Boxing Day. But if it means breaking with long-standing royal traditions to avoid upsetting Meghan, so be it,’ a Kensington Palace insider said.
