THE GOWN

Following extensive research by the designer into fabric mills throughout Europe, an exclusive double-bonded silk fabric was developed for Meghan’s dress, which boasted a similar elegance to Princess Mary’s.

Perfect for the round, sculptural look required, the silk fabric has a soft matt lustre, while the bonding process and pure white colour chosen by both the bride and the designer brought a fresh modernity to the dress. Wedding couturier Helen Manuell said Meghan had ‘nailed it’.

‘She has taken a bold risk, and it has paid off. Clean, chic and seriously fashion forward,’ Helen said. ‘In three words, I love it.’Sunrise presenter Edwina Bartholomew was also a fan, saying: ‘It’s divine. All the reaction I’ve seen is that it’s elegant, it’s demure, it’s simple, it’s classic, it’s so be tting for her style.’
