If you were finding it hard to keep up with this season’s Married At First Sight scandals, it’s about to get a little more confusing.
Specifically, if you haven’t been able to keep up with the ‘couple-swapping’ that’s been happening this season – including between Carly and Troy, Dean and Davina, and Ryan and Ashley, just to name the ones we’re aware of – another tangled story-line has been added into the Channel Nine series.
On Tuesday night’s episode, Justin Fischer, who has been actively attempting to add intimacy into his relationship with on-screen wife Carly Bowyer, has admitted that he is actually more attracted to Ashley Irvin, who is paired with quirky Troy Delmege.
While at a designated ‘boys night’, the self-proclaimed ‘millionaire’ makes the shocking confession to fellow contestants.
Justin tells the other men in the experiment that he and Carly had decided to ‘take a few days apart’ to ‘chill out’ and get their heads ‘nice and clear.’
He adds: ‘I’m trying to force it because it’s not happening naturally.’
It cuts to Troy, who tells the camera: ‘I don’t know what’s up with Justin, because the first time I saw Carly, I thought she was great.’
When cutting back to the group, Justin continues: ‘She’s just not the type of girl I would normally approach outside of the experiment.’
It’s then Dean who sparks the question: ‘If you could have any other wife in the experiment, who would it be?’
Dean, who already sparked controversy when he believed Davina was his better match, claims he was most attracted to Carly in the beginning.
Justin then claims Carly is ‘like his little sister.’
The conversation gets even more uncomfortable when Justin claims his wife is more attracted to Dean and Troy.
It’s then that Justin drops the bombshell – he’s most attracted to Ashley.
Dean interjects, ‘What about Tracey, she’s hot?’
‘Does anybody want to bang Tracey,’ the self-confessed ‘alpha-male’ yells.
Justin adds, ‘I don’t want to be disrespectful, but I’m open to it.’
‘I’d pick Ash,’ he finishes.
‘Wife-swap them,’ one of the other boys yells.
