WOOPS! Kate wears the same dress as Princess Eugenie AND another senior royal

Fashion faux pas

If imitation is the greatest form of flattery, two royal ladies should be blushing over one of Kate Middleton‘s latest ensembles.

The Duchess of Cambridge took inspiration from her in-laws Princess Eugenie and Katharine, Duchess of Kent while showing Queen Elizabeth her newly unveiled wilderness garden at the Chelsea Flower Show on Monday.

Kate, 37, chose a bold floral printed maxi dress by Canadian-Turkish designer Erdem which subtly highlighted her tiny frame and complimented her complexion to perfection.

The gown comes from the same collection as a mini-dress worn by the younger Princess of York for her appearance at the annual Maundy Thursday service last month.

Both dresses are decorated with the same indigo and yellow print, although the neckline and sleeves are slightly different with Kate’s boasting delicate lace embroidery.

And while 29-year-old Eugenie’s Erdem piece came with minor variations, mother-of-three Kate went all out copy cat by choosing the exact dress worn by her elder relative the Duchess of Kent for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s wedding last year, Daily Mail reports.

The 86-year-old Duchess memorably paired the high-end look with a pair of comfy trainers and a practical cross body bag for the Sussexes’ marriage at St George’s Chapel in Windsor.

The stunning cotton and silk frock, called the Shebah, comes with the hefty price tag of $4,805 AUD, Hello! Magazine say.

Erdem is a favourite designer among the royals and their elite circle.

Kate’s sister Pippa Middleton chose a floor length fuchsia Erdem gown for the evening wedding reception of Lady Gabriella Windsor last weekend.

The all-over lace number, christened the Celestina, retails at $5,408.
