What Kate’s dress says about her baby style

Plus, how the royal has paid another tribute to her late mother-in-law, Diana.

While royal fans were eager to catch a glimpse of the new royal baby when Kate Middleton and Prince William left the Lindo Wing at St. Mary’s Hospital in London, the duchess’ outfit choice came a close second.

The 36-year-old royal opted for a Jenny Packham dress, the same designer Kate has worn for all three of her baby reveals.

The now mother-of-three chose a red knee-length shift dress with a lace collar, and beside the designer, Kate’s dress paid a particular homage to William’s late mother Diana.

Nearly 34 years ago, when Princess Diana presented Prince Harry to the public, she also wore a red outfit featuring a white Peter Pan collar.

Royal watchers will remember the nod Kate gave to Diana when Prince George was born in 2013.

Kate wore another outfit inspired by Diana: A blue polka-dot Jenny Packham dress, invoking the same print that Diana herself wore to present William to the world in 1982.

Kate and William are yet to announce the name of their newborn son, but William joked with the press that we will find out ‘soon.’

Bookmakers have reported a surge in bets on the name Arthur for the new royal bub, who will be fifth in line to the throne. The boy is also the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh’s sixth great-grandchild.
