Amid planning her wedding, Jennifer Aniston is reportedly seething about the new woman in Brad Pitt’s life – acclaimed architect Neri Oxman, 42, who Brad is said to be ‘smitten’ with.
Brad, 54, became friends with the brunette beauty last year and their chemistry is said to be ‘off the charts’.
According to Us Weekly, the pair ‘got romantically involved almost right away’ and they ‘are very much a couple’, but a source told New Idea Brad is denying the claims.
‘Brad keeps saying they’re just good friends and there’s nothing romantic going on, but Jen can’t help but be suspicious and think the worst,’ the source spilled. ‘Jen is jealous of Neri, there’s no doubt about it.’
‘Brad and Neri instantly hit it off because they share the same passion for architecture, design and art,’ a source told People, but later said of their association: ‘This is best described as a professional friendship.’
But this hasn’t stopped Jen, 49, being heartbroken. She’s been hurt before and doesn’t want to be dumped and humiliated again.
‘She’s been hurt so many times over the years – not just by Brad, but by so many men since,’ the source told New Idea.
But of course, Brad left the deepest wounds by breaking her heart when he took up with Angelina Jolie.
Now that there are rumours flying around about Neri, Jen feels history is repeating itself.
‘And looking at Neri, of course Jen is going to be jealous. She’s crazy smart and can relate to Brad on a whole new intellectual level – plus she’s young and very beautiful.
‘Jen just feels like she’s completely out of Neri’s league, and she’s really down on herself right now,’ the source went on.
‘Jen desperately wants her renewed relationship with Brad to work, but at the same time she can’t be dumped by Brad twice.
‘She barely recovered the first time and she fears it will destroy her for good if Brad leaves her again for another woman.
‘She’s keeping her distance from Brad at the moment just until she can make up her own mind on Neri. Brad says they’re just friends – but Jen isn’t too sure and can’t stop feeling jealous and a little betrayed. She and Brad have made so many promises in recent months – wedding, family – and she’s become so close to his kids. It would kill her if she was left with nothing all over again.’
And plans for their wedding have been full steam ahead in recent weeks.
Reverend Swadley – the local priest and friend of the Pitt family – confirmed to friends that the A-list couple spent a week with Brad’s family, discussing wedding plans.
It’s believed the stars flew to Missouri so Jen could reconnect with Brad’s mum, Jane, who she’d developed a close bond with during their marriage.
It’s the latest chapter in the pair’s rekindled romance since Jen announced her split from Justin Theroux in February.
She has wasted no time in rebuilding her relationship with ex-husband Brad, spending time with his six children and developing a special bond with 11-year-old Shiloh.
But with Jen’s latest concerns about Brad and Neri getting close, let’s hope this doesn’t throw a spanner in the works for the pair’s forthcoming nuptials.
