Down-to-earth country couple Toady and Mandy revealed they had been dating for just nine months when they got engaged.
‘I wrote: “Will you marry me?” in the paddock,’ dairy farmer Toad, 32, recalled. ‘We were meant to fly over it, but then the weather was bad so we drove to the paddock and I asked her to marry me.’
Mum-of-twins Mandy, 28, says it was a happy day despite the terrible rain.
‘I got out of the car and we got so wet. Toad knelt down in a puddle of mud,’ she remembers, laughing.
‘I just wanted him to marry me because it was just too good to be true, and I just wanted to lock it in.’
