Boy George’s protege has walked away with $100,000 prize money and a recording contract with Universal Music or EMI, however, disgruntled viewers of the Channel Nine show are demanding a do-over.
While this should be a joyous occasion for the 35-year-old, fans are currently up in arms on Twitter and calling for a re-do as an unfortunate website crash early on in the piece meant that not everyone could cast their vote.

It’s safe to say, the Twitterverse was furious, with some fans even calling the singing competition ‘rigged’.
A representative from Channe Nine assured fans that the issue was not widespread, and in a statement to the Daily Mail revealed the problem was due to a high number of votes.
“We have had an overwhelming number of votes throughout the week.
“Hundreds of thousands of votes have been coming through during tonight’s show which has caused some technical problems for a small number of viewers, however votes are continuing to flow through.
“The technical problem has now been solved. We appreciate everybody’s support for the artists and the show. Voting is still open.”
