Following a massive blaze that engulfed famous Parisian landmark Notre Dame Cathedral, Australian television presenter Lisa Wilkinson has shared her devastation in a heartfelt Instagram post.
Posting an old selfie to Instagram of herself in front of the cathedral, Lisa wrote: “Oh beautiful Paris, you have been through so much in recent times…and now Notre Dame.
“Seeing pictures of that exquisite spire collapsing overnight are simply heartbreaking.”
The Project Host continued: “Sending love and healing strength to every Parisienne for whom this magnificent cathedral, this towering monument to medieval architecture, and all it holds within, is its beating heart.😞❤️”
Built in the 13th century, the medieval building was considered a feat of architecture and an iconic religious symbol.
The fire burned for several hours on Monday, causing the collapse of the cathedrals iconic spire and the destruction of its roof.
A spokesman for Paris police tells CNN the Notre Dame fire is now under control.
