Rachel Williams

Rachel is the Acting Editorial Director for New Idea, Australia’s best magazine and digital platform for celebrity news, royal updates, and expert-backed lifestyle advice across food, health, travel, and homes. Over her 22-year career, Rachel has specialised in real-life features, holding senior roles at some of the world’s leading real-life publications. After starting out as a local news reporter, Rachel was Assistant Editor at Take a Break, the UK’s number one real-life magazine. She spent time in Afghanistan embedded with soldiers, with charities in Tanzania and Ghana, and broke into prison to secure an interview with a convicted killer (by impersonating a family member!). Aged 27, Rachel became Editor of the Exclusive Features team at Britain’s largest news agency, The Press Association, spearheading the launch of their first-ever digital arm. After being headhunted, Rachel moved to Australia, where she became Deputy Editor of that’s life!, before taking the helm as Editor of Take 5, responsible for print, digital, social, and newsletters. Rachel seamlessly brings brand visions and personal stories to life across all platforms. She particularly loves true crime and (almost) unbelievable survival stories!
