Woolworths ends Disney+ Ooshies promotion early due to high demand

This is the last week!

Woolworths has announced that the popular Disney+ Ooshies collection is set to end a month early as stock runs out!

Despite the promotion set to run up to October 20, the retail giant expects stock to be depleted in every state by the end of the week except Victoria.

“Victoria is excluded from these estimates as their allocation was kept separate from the rest of Australia due to the delayed launch of the Victorian campaign. We created a separate allotment from when we delayed the launch of the program due to Stage 4 lockdowns and they can continue collecting in the weeks ahead while supplies last,” Woolworths said in a media release.Despite Ooshies launching in August, Victorians have only had access to Ooshies as of last week.

“We’d like to thank our team for their support in executing the program in stores and online and our customers for helping us create such a memorable program,” said Woolworths’ Chief Marketing Officer, Andrew Hicks. The collection which features characters from the Marvel, Star Wars, Pixar, and Disney franchises has been in such high demand that the rarest Ooshies are selling for up to $15k on eBay. Shoppers are outraged by Woolworths pulling the plug on the promotion early and have taken to Facebook to share their frustrations. “This is very sad news, my granddaughters only needed two to finish their collections. We are owed 16 from the last shop so will the set ever be complete?” One woman posted to Woolworths Facebook page.

Another shopper took to Facebook to accuse Woolworths staff of giving out more Ooshies to certain customers.“Staff are giving more to friends than other people. Once I saw a woman in front of my with about $140 worth of products and she was given around 12 Ooshies more than the woman before her,” she wrote. Others are calling for people to boycott Woolworths and to shop at Coles instead.“This is very simple. Shop at Coles. Woolworths is useless and have no idea about their market or customers. Why spend your hard-earned money in a retailer who can’t even for fill their promotion? I know where I am shopping from now on!” she wrote.“You are a disgrace! Who runs a promotion and has no rewards available for 2 weeks and then decides to cancel, I have been a loyal shopper but being conned like this will now be shopping at COLES!” said another. You may also like Arnotts release a new Chicken Parma Shapes flavourNutella biscuits have been spotted in one lucky city!
