Meghan Markle wasn’t exactly like the other woman Prince Harry had ever dated before. But now, the Duchess of Sussex has been given a new title – winning British magazine Tatler’s Girl of the Year.

The publication announced the former actress as the winner of this year’s coveted award, stating ‘there was only ever one option.’

Explaining why the Duchess of Sussex took the title this year, the magazine said she has ‘that indefinable, unmissable quality that makes her the one for whom heads turn.’

Interestingly, Amelia Windsor – Prince Harry and Prince William’s cousins – is a lead contributor at the magazine.

Lady Amelia’s paternal grandfather, Prince Edward, Duke of Kent, is a first cousin of Elizabeth II. Her paternal great grandparents were Prince George, Duke of Kent and Princess Marina of Greece and Denmark, a granddaughter of George I of Greece and first cousin of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.

Lady Amelia is the younger sister of Edward Windsor, Lord Downpatrick and Lady Marina Charlotte Windsor. She is a third cousin of Prince William, Duke of Cambridge and Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex.
