A Instagram post shared by the tragic teenager who was killed – alongside her brother – when their father shot them in their own home, shows her love for her adorable pet bunny rabbit.
Jennifer Edwards, 13, and her brother Jack, 15, were killed by their father, John Edwards, 67, last Thursday afternoon in Pennant Hills, NSW.
The father then turned the gun on himself.
Before her death, Jennifer kept an Instagram page showing the life of her beloved pet Netherland dwarf rabbit, Oreo,
In it, the adorable white rabbit was shown in a variety of poses – licking her face, being cuddled by her best friend and helping her to ‘study’.
‘Today [Jennifer] woke up to her 3rd pair of earphones being destroyed by me,’ a post – written from the point of view of the rabbit – said on May 20.
‘So she knew she had to find a solution! 3 hours later she bought me 23 new chew toys! (If you count every chew log)
‘And as soon as she gave them to me I immediately loved them and was chewing them. Though l’m gonna miss chewing those earphones…’
Olga Edwards, the mother of the slain children, released photographs of them on Saturday afternoon.
A GoFundMe page set up by the Russian Speakers in Australia Facebook group, stated that she is in ‘great distress’.
‘The story of two teenagers killed in West Pennant Hills shooting has shocked us all,’ the GoFundMe reads.
‘The kids mum, Olga Edwards, is currently in a great distress and will possibly be out of work due to shock & bereavement for some time.
‘At the moment a visa for her mum is being prepared, so she can come from overseas to help. As we understand Olga is from Russia (or exUSSR) and we as part of the Russian Speaking community in Australia would like to help with some of the costs and we hope you kind people can help as well.’
John Edwards had been involved in a custody dispute over the children when he shot and killed them, before turning the gun on himself.
Police said the murder was premeditated and Edwards used two pistols for the attack which where purchased legally.
