The Queen has advertised for a sous chef at the Royal Household website.
Although the position advertised is for a role based at Buckingham Palace, it will involve travelling to other royal residences as well.
The advertisement promises that the “hands-on” role in the royal kitchen will provide a “unique and stimulating work environment.”
It also makes clear that the palace’s food must be delivered to the “highest standards”.
Some of the duties involved in the role include managing stock levels, planning and developing menu items for royal events, and helping the head chef lead the team.
Preferably, the chef will have a “background in premier catering” and be “trained in classical French cuisine”. The sous chef should also have good communication and leadership skills.
The advertisement does not state the salary but instead promises a “comprehensive benefits package.”
Some perks of the job include access to the recreational facilities and the option to live-in with meals provided.
