She’s carved a reputation for being a global style icon, and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark lived up to her name during an outing in Paris with France’s First Lady Brigitte Macron yesterday.

Australian born Mary, 47, was a vision in a flowing white midi-dress, lightly checked with grey graphic print for her visit to the Elysée Palace.

The Danish royal paired her summer look with classic black point toe stilettos, accessorising with delicate gold bracelets and pearl drop earrings.

The mother-of-four – who shares Prince Christian, Princess Josephine and twins Prince Vincent and Princess Isabella with her husband Crown Prince Frederik – styled her brunette tresses in her trademark bouncy blow dry and toted a black animal skin clutch.

Mrs Macron, 66, was the epitome of Parisian chic in a sherbet pink sleeved mini-dress and fashion forward black stilettos.

The women were joined by France’s Education and Youth Affairs Minister Jean-Michel Blanquer and  Denmarks’s ambassador to France Michael Starbaek Christensen.

Earlier in the day, Princess Mary and Mrs Macron visited the modern art museum at the Centre Georges Pompidou in the capital.

Last week, the Countess of Monpezat – as Tasmania native Mary is also known – looked ravishing in red as she joined the royal family to celebrate 800 years of the Danish flag.

Princess Mary and Prince Frederik were joined by Denmark’s Queen Margrethe, 79, in the port town of Vordingborg, one hours drive from the capital Copenhagen.
