Princess Diana was ‘devastated’ Prince William adored nanny more than her

New documentary claims.

Princess Diana was often praised for her wonderful parenting skills to her two children Prince William and Prince Harry before her tragic death in 1997.

However, a new documentary has claimed that in the early years of his life, Diana became “extremely jealous” of William’s nanny.

Amazon Prime documentary Serving the Royals: Inside the Firm shows footage that sees Vanity Fair’s Royal Correspondent, Katie Nicholl claiming: “Princess Diana wanted to raise and feed her babies herself.”

“The Princess was persuaded to hire royal nanny Barbara Barnes and took it badly when William ended up adoring her.”

Nicoll adds, “There was a side of Diana that was rather jealous of the nannies and the relationships that they subsequently struck up with the children.”

According to the documentary, Diana dismissed Barnes from her role when William was barely four.

Later, after Diana and Prince Charles’ separation, the Princess of Wales came to deeply resent Tiggy Legge-Bourke, whom Charles hired to help with the boys.

As William and Harry grew up, the Diana stressed the importance of compassion and humility by leading them by example.

She kept them out of the public eye as best she could and tried to keep their undeniably unusual upbringing as normal as possible.
