Her sister may have had the (second) biggest royal wedding of the year, but Princess Beatrice is planning something major for herself.

Bea, 30, has quietly been dating high-flying British businessman James Williams since the beginning of the year, and now those close pals of the princess reveal they’re planning to elope.

“The big rumour around the palace is Beatrice has run off and eloped with James,” a source says. “She’s been feeling out of sorts since Eugenie’s wedding, like no-one cares about her – so she just wanted to do something rebellious and put herself in the spotlight.”

The decision to wed has come as a shock to Beatrice’s family.

Having only broken up with partner of 10 years Dave Clark in 2016, many members of the royal family think Bea’s decision to now elope with bad boy James is a rash move.

“Beatrice met him through Robbie Williams and loves how wild he is – she’s absolutely besotted. Obviously, the palace doesn’t like him at all, and thinks he’s totally unsuitable for Bea,” continues the source.

However, despite the fact James – who was previously a lawyer at prestigious law firm Clifford Chance before leaving to start a gym venture with boxer Floyd Mayweather in the US – was allegedly spotted kissing a mystery woman at the Burning Man festival in Arizona, Bea is still forging ahead with the wedding and is even rumoured to have had a bridal shower ahead of the big day.

Those close to the unlucky- in-love princess have been left wondering if her failed relationship to Dave – the couple parted ways after the failure of long and exasperated “make or break talks” centred on whether or not they should marry – in addition to seeing her younger sister walk down the aisle in October, has sent Bea into panic mode.

“The royal family are really hoping the rumours of her eloping aren’t true, but honestly, they just don’t know what’s going on with Bea. She’s off the grid and is definitely going through a rebellious phase. And with a man like James on her arm, they’re even more worried because literally anything could happen.”
