A British Vogue ex-publisher has revealed that Prince William was teased by his Eton classmates after topless photographs of his mother, Princess Diana, were published in a UK tabloid newspaper in 1996.
Speaking in his soon-to-be-released memoirs The Glossy Years, Nicholas Coleridge, the now chairman of Conde Nast Britain, recalled Diana’s topless scandal which rocked the monarchy.

Nicholas recalled to the Daily Mail how Diana, Princess of Wales came for lunch at his office, the day after photographs of her sunbathing topless on a balcony in Spain had appeared on the front page of a tabloid.
“Nicholas, can I ask you something?” Diana said.
“Please be truthful. Did you see the photograph of me in the Daily Mirror? The topless one?”
Speaking of William, then 14, she continued: “He was so upset. He said some of the boys were teasing him saying my t**s are too small,” before adding: “Are my breasts too small, do you think?”
Nicholas said he went “breathless and as red as a guardsman’s tunic”, as he reassured her that her breasts were “perfect”, and told her “not to worry”.
Years later, the Duke of Cambridge and his wife, Kate Middleton, were also caught up in their own ‘topless’ scandal.
In 2017 Prince William sought £1.3million compensation over topless photos of Kate on holiday, which were published in French Closer magazine in 2012.
Prince William confessed the images were “all the more painful” as they reminded him of the way his mother died, as she was pursued by paparazzi photographers in Paris on August 31, 1997.
The French celebrity magazine was eventually ordered to pay 103,000 euros (£92,000) in damages to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge for publishing the photos.
