Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip have been married for 71 years, so it’s fair to say their marriage has had plenty of ups and downs.
The couple are said to have got through many difficult times with their shared humour, but on one occasion, Philip took things too far for the Queen to handle.

When the Duke of Edinburgh made a joke about the Queen’s body, it backfired in the most terrible way.
According to the Daily Mirror in 2007, the controversial comment came after Philip’s cousin Patricia Mountbatten complimented the Queen on her skin.
“When Philip’s cousin Patricia Mountbatten remarked on Elizabeth’s flawless complexion, the Prince joked: ‘Yes, and she’s like that all over.’” the Daily Mirror reported at the time.
The Duke has been reprimanded for his offensive ‘jokes’ about the Queen in the past.
An insider told Express.co.uk: “Philip hid a corgi in a desk cupboard and when the Queen asked him where it was, he said he didn’t know.
“But then the dog whined after hearing the Queen’s voice, so Philip let it out and it ran to her.”
According to the article, the Queen was not impressed by Philip’s actions and told him to “stop showing off to guests”.
