Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are adopting a baby girl from Africa, a sensational report from US publication GLOBE has today reported.
According to the outrageous report, the newlyweds ‘fell in love with the infant’ when visiting an orphanage during their secret honeymoon and have started the process to make her their own.
But, according to GLOBE the controversial decision has thrown the palace into turmoil!
A high-level aide told GLOBE, ‘This will be a first for the royal family. Harry and Meghan are going to face a lot of opposition from the old guard.’
‘But they are stubborn and ready to stand up for what they want,’ the aide adds.
The 33-year-old prince has made no secret of his desire to become a dad, and Meghan shares his dream.
‘They simply decided they couldn’t wait to become parents,’ another palace source allegedly told GLOBE.
‘Meghan isn’t getting any younger,’ they add. ‘And they want a big family like William and Kate.’
Another palace insider tells GLOBE, ‘As a biracial woman, it was Meghan’s idea to adopt a child from Africa, where both she and Harry have close ties.’
‘She feels it honours the heritage of her mother, Doria, and Harry is totally on board!’
Harry as spent many hours with children during trips to Africa, the publication notes.
GLOBE claims that it was ‘always something’ Prince Harry’s mother, the late Princess Diana, wanted to do before her tragic death.
‘She talked often of giving a home to orphans from Africa,’ an insider says. ‘She saw firsthand the plight of children without parents and it broke her heart.’
‘Tragically, she never got the chance.’
Harry and Meghan are now planning on fulfilling her dream, and are even considering naming their new daughter after her.
While GLOBE claims the details are ‘top secret’, sources tell the publication the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are adopting from Botswana, where they have spent a lot of time in their early relationship.
‘I’m told they visited two orphanages and simply fell in love with a beautiful little girl with a huge smile. She’s about six months old,’ the palace insider spills.
‘They know they have to follow strict rules for adoption but they’re praying they can bring her back to Kensington Palace within weeks.
The royal family is yet to respond to GLOBE’s sensational report.
