NSW family “kidnapped” and rescued 400kms from home

A NSW family were allegedly kidnapped in the state’s central-west. 

The manhunt, involving dog units and a police helicopter, brought the harrowing ordeal to an end near Sydney, hundreds of kilometres away from where it started.

Police claim the men also allegedly forced entry to the home were armed with a shotgun, a knife and an axe.

Two men have been charged, while another is being questioned by police. 

The men, aged 23 and 29, were arrested near Sackville and taken to Windsor Police Station, ABC reports. 

Police claim a third man, aged 44, was located by authorities in bushland near Blaxlands Ridge. 

Police will allege three armed men forced entry to the Ootha home and assaulted the -year-old male occupant and deliberately setting the home alight, before kidnapping his 71-year-old partner, her 41-year-old daughter and two grandsons, aged 13 and 14.
