Recent details have emerged of Meghan Markle‘s New York baby shower, revealing a hidden truth about the royal’s intentions.
A leaked document has exposed the extent to which the Duchess of Sussex went to give the impression she was humbly avoiding the media during her visit to the Big Apple.

Prior to her son Archie’s birth, Meghan spent over $700 000 on her baby shower, which was held in the penthouse of The Mark Hotel (New York City’s most expensive five-star hotel).
The 38-year-old became the subject of criticism after the event and was accused of being excessive, no doubt due to the $100 000-a-night penthouse suite.
In a recent bombshell, a leaked document has revealed just how far Meghan went to manipulate the public into believing she was trying to avoid the media.
According to the Daily Mail – who obtained the document through a Freedom of Information Act request to the State Department – Meghan changed her plans at the last minute to alter the “optics” of her departure from The Mark.
The mother-of-one told her security detail that she wanted to exit through the side entrance of The Mark, rather than the front, to avoid giving the “impression that she was enjoying the media attention.”
Meghan’s last-minute request meant all security vehicles had to be moved, resulting in her detail telegraphing the change, and subsequently exposing the royal to direct access from the public as no cordons had been set up.
The report states: “The VIP [Meghan] explained that her intent was to change the literal optics of the departure, making it appear that she was at least attempting to sneak out of the hotel in photos rather than exiting through the main entrance and giving the potential impression that she was enjoying the media attention.”
However, the security complied with her request, and the Duchess of Sussex made her way to dinner at The Polo Bar with close friends Amal Clooney and Serena Williams.
The original plan was for Meghan to have dinner at Flora Bar at the Met – which has a large glass ceiling that makes diners visible to the public.
According to the report, Meghan – who became part of the British royal family after marrying Prince Harry last year – asked to change venue “due to the ability of the paparazzi to potentially photograph her through the skylights.”
In an attempt to escape the paparazzi, the security tried to change the route to The Polo Bar, but the document revealed that the plans were leaked and over 20 photographers were already waiting outside.
