Lisa Wilkinson has gotten her final revenge on the Today Show after the first teaser for her new role on Channel Ten’s The Project is revealed.
After abruptly departing Channel Nine in October after being refused pay-parity with her male co-host Karl Stefanovic, Wilkinson was offered a gig on the nightly current affairs program, The Project.
Now, after a well deserved break, the popular television host is making her return to TV.
Today, the network unveiled a first-look trailer of Lisa’s debut, which makes a cheeky mention of the major media circus surrounding her departure and subsequent new role.
In the short 30-second teaser, a voice-over begins: ‘In 2018, guess who’s coming to The Project?’
Panel member and comedian Peter Helliar then begins to list potential celebrity guests appearing on the show in the coming months – including Hugh Jackman former panelist Dave Hughes.
The camera then pans to Lisa, and Waleed Aly joyfully adds: ‘Great to have you on the team, Lisa.’
