Lisa Wilkinson isn’t happy with coverage of the new Today show lineup.

The Project star took to Instagram to post a newspaper clipping of the announcement and her issues around it.

“Warmest congratulations to the fab new team just announced,” Wilkinson said.

“I sincerely wish them all the very best in the breakfast wars ahead.

“But as my media studies student daughter noted to me, why oh why oh why, in the reporting of the new team do the ages of the women need to be pointed out while the men’s don’t? Similarly, Deb (Knight) being a mum of three is considered significant, but Tony (Jones) being a dad isn’t?

“I don’t understand,” Wilkinson added.

“We obviously have a long way to go when it comes to gender equity.”

This is the second time Wilkinson has commented on the Today show since her departure.

Her first comment followed news of Karl Stefanovic’s booting from the breakfast TV show last month.

“Wishing @karlstefanovic_ all the best. Because when it was good, it was great @thetodayshow,” she wrote.

Lisa and Karl hosted the breakfast show together from 2007 until she quit in 2017 following a pay dispute with Network bosses.

The new Today show lineup will go live on January 14.
