Kyle Sandilands and longtime friend Karl Stefanovic have been known to taunt each other on their prospective programs from time to time.
On Tuesday, KIIS FM host Kyle took a nasty swipe at the Today host after learning he’d agreed to be roasted on ABC’s Hard Chat in 2015 without being paid.
The 47-year-old radio host claimed he wasn’t surprised that Karl took the gig without charging an appearance fee, saying: ‘He’ll show up to the opening of an envelope!’
Speaking to Hard Chat host Tom Gleeson, Kyle was asked to do their end of year wrap up called ‘The Yearly.’
Gleeson said, ‘We have an end-of-year special called The Yearly, where we wrap up the year. Maybe you could be the big end-of-year Hard Chat? Karl Stefanovic did it.’
Kyle replied, ‘He’ll show up to the opening of an envelope!’ which prompted the comedian to say: ‘Yeah, I know – but you could too.’
‘You guys have no budget, clearly,’ co-host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson added.
