Pregnant Kate gets a tattoo

It's for a good cause!

Kate Middleton has stepped out with husband Prince William in Sunderland, North England, to attend the official opening of the Fire Station, one of the city’s most iconic buildings that was recently converted into a hub for artists.

During the visit, Kate, received a henna tattoo from a local artist. The pregnant royal was smiling from ear-to-ear as Shajida Begum, 18, drew a brown flower with a swirl on her hand.

Kumareswaradas Ramanathas, project manager at Young Asian Voices, said Kate was decorated with natural brown, bridal henna.

Ramanathas told reporters, ‘After two days it will start disappearing slowly and after two weeks it will be gone completely. It just leaves an orange stain on the skin.’

Begum said, ‘I said, ‘Would you like a design?’ and she was like, ‘Yes, if you don’t mind’.’

‘She was saying that it was really pretty. I was just telling her how it works. I was telling her when she can wash it off — I said, ‘When it becomes flaky’.’

Kate also asked the women for a pack of bindis, which she said she wanted for her daughter, Princess Charlotte.
