House Rules contestant Mandy recently revealed she has a twin sister! The 28-year-old beauty therapist from NSW told New Idea her sister is ‘basically the same person’.

‘She’s in the navy so she lives in Nowra, but has been all over,’ Mandy spills.

Her sister also has two children although, unlike Mandy’s, they are not twins.

‘When I was pregnant, she wanted to have another baby,’ Mandy says.

Their kids are 10 weeks apart and her sister was there at Mandy’s birth.

‘We sat together for 20 minutes before I had a caesarean,’ she says.

The sisters are very close and make sure that they are in constant contact.

‘We talk every day,’ Mandy adds.

Mandy and Toad found out they were expecting a baby the day after he proposed, but she had a difficult pregnancy.

‘I was sick for nine months,’ she reveals. ‘I was so tired and at eight weeks I had an early scan because [Toad] was worried something was wrong. But it was twins,’ Mandy adds.

When she first found out she was pregnant, Toad knew straight away it was twins.

‘He would say: “There’s two in there,”’ she adds.

The twins, Lenny and Layla, are almost two now, and Mandy reveals it was very difficult to leave them to come on the show.

‘It was so hard to leave, but they’re too young to miss us.’

Overall, the couple say they are coping well on the show, although they find certain parts challenging.

‘The physical side of it I can do, it’s the mental side that I struggle with,’ Toad says. ‘We had a bit of a stink, but our stink is probably nothing compared to what everybody else has.’

Mandy says they’re usually really polite towards each other, but the show tested them.

‘I think we’ve lost a little bit of respect for each other on the show,’ she admits.

‘We bicker a bit and we don’t do that at home. We never speak to each other like that normally. As far as getting along goes, we get along the best out of everyone,’ Toad adds.

‘A few couples are fighting, but we don’t fight at home and maybe they do fight at home,’ Mandy says.
