House Rules: Top three revealed

In an emotional elimination.

The House Rules final three have been announced in an emotional episode.

Monday night’s episode of the Channel Seven renovation show saw three teams leave after the Backyard Battles came to an end.

On top of the leaderboard were Mel and Dave with 64 points, in second place were Toad and Mandy on 63, and in third were Chiara and David on 62.

That left teams Josh and Brandon, Kim and Michelle and Jess and Jared saying goodbye to the competition.

It was a bittersweet moment for the teams, who have now all had their homes and backyards completely transformed.

In emotional tributes, each team farewelled the competition.

Brandon, wiping away tears, tells: ‘I haven’t cried this whole competition…’

Johanna Griggs thanks the contestants for their involvement, and wishes them all good luck.

Brandon adds, ‘The best part about this competition is making all the new friends that we’ve made.’

‘We’ve definitely made life-long friends,’ Josh adds.

Brandon continues, ‘I think it’s brought us even closer together as brothers, I couldn’t have thought of anyone better to do it with than Josh.’

Now the remaining teams will compete for the $350,000 prize by transforming one family’s home.

Mel and Dave, Toad and Mandy and Chiara and David will go head-to-head once again in a tear-jerking episode airing this week.

Chelsea will have the house she shared with her late husband and baby daughter Koa made over by the final three teams.

Chelsea and Wayde had been shortlisted as contestants on the current season, before Wayde tragically lost his life in a rock-fishing accident in June last year.
