Ramsay opens up about his family

Gordon Ramsay is one of four children. His younger brother Ronnie has struggled with drug addiction for a large part of his life. 

In 2017, Gordon Ramsay opened up about his brother Ronnie. In an interview with Jonathan Ross speaking largely about Ramsay’s TV Show Gordon Ramsay on Cocaine, he said “I don’t think there is any easy drug but when you stoop to the depths of heroin, it’s very rare you get back,” he explained. “We’ve done everything we can to help him, now he just sort of binges and disappears so that’s just a constant reminder and also being a father of four ourselves, you need to be there for them because this stuff is rife.”Ramsay’s family have tried to help Ronnie for numerous years, Ramsay told the Sunday People “I have tried to help many times. It’s hard. Every time you see him, God bless him, it reopens a wound for everybody.- A general overview of Gordon Ramsay and why his relationship with his brother has come to the spotlight.Ronnie was jailed in 2017 for possessing heroin in Indonesia.“Yeah he is my brother and there are 15 months between us but our lives have gone left and right. There is not a day when I don’t think about him.”Ramsay also admitted in the documentary to his own battle with addiction “I saw cocaine quite early on in my career,” he admitted. “I’ve been served it. I’ve been given it. I’ve had my hand shaken and left with little wraps of foil in it. I’ve been asked to dust cocaine on top of soufflés, to put it on as icing sugar…Coke’s everywhere. It’s spiralling out of control.”
