We’ve seen clever home cooks around Australia whipping up all sorts of treats in the $29 Kmart Pie Maker. From scones and cupcakes to quiches and dim sims, it’s proof that you can make a whole lot more than pies in the gadget!Well now it seems the clever ladies at the Kmart Mums Australia Facebook group have found a new appliance to whip up sweet treats with – and we couldn’t love it more!
Using the bargain chain store’s sandwich press – which retails for just $7.50 – Kmart Mums followers are whipping up cakes as the ultimate super quick, super easy dessert.
Kmart Mum follower Kelly revealed that she’d jumped on the bandwagon recently, whipping up dessert using the budget gadget.
Sharing pics of her chocolate cakes, she wrote: ‘I know I’m a bit late to the party but I finally got my chance to make chocolate Brevilles with the $7.50 Kmart Sandwich Maker,’I used the 79 cent Coles cake mix. I’m gonna try a brownie mix next!She adds:’ I quite literally made up the cake batter and poured the mixture into the sandwich maker and closed the lid :)’Kelly used her $7.50 sandwich maker to make chocolate cakes! Love it!The cake hack went down a treat with the other Kmart Mums Australia fans, who said they couldn’t wait to give it a go.Said one: ‘Wait….what? What have I been missing? This looks amazing!!! I have never seen it before but I am going to give it a go. Wow!’Added another: ‘Late to the party?!?! I’ve never seen such wonderfulness. Hahaha mmmmm. Delicious!’Said a third: ‘Wow, yummy!
