Royal fans are convinced that former couple Prince Andrew and Sarah ‘Fergie’ Ferguson have quietly reunited, and their recent outing has done nothing to squash those rumours.

Prince Andrew, 58, and Fergie, also 58, have known each other since childhood. The two both frequently attended polo events as young teens, and they were formally re-acquainted in 1985 at the Royal Ascot.

The pair recently drew comparisons to this historical meeting, once again reuniting at the Royal Ascot just last week.

Fans couldn’t help but notice how lively and affectionate the pair were, just as they were when they first met!

Fans were especially curious about the status of their relationship following a very intimate snap shared on Fergie’s Instagram account.

‘Great day with the family,’ the Duchess of York wrote.

The photo, which features the couple laughing alongside daughter Beatrice, sparked royal followers to question the truth about their relationship.

Still look lovely together… I so hope this is the beginning of something new,’ one wrote.

Another added, ‘She makes him laugh. Wish you would get back together. Clearly still in love with one another.’

It has been over twenty years since the couple’s highly publicised 1996 divorce. Following their shock split, the couple continued to live together at their Sunninghill Park estate in Berkshire, England.

In 2004, the prince moved out and moved in to his grandmother’s property.

Come 2013, Queen Elizabeth shockingly invited Fergie — who had often been plagued with controversy and negative headlines in the years since her divorce — to stay at the royal family’s summer home, Balmoral Castle, in Scotland.

At the time, royal fans believed this meant Sarah was again in the monarchy’s good graces and could potentially remarry Andrew.

When asked at the time if she would ever reconsider marrying Andrew, she said: ‘He’s still my handsome prince, he’ll always be my handsome prince.’

Last year, the former royal confessed: ‘We’re divorced to each other right now [but] we’ve never really left each other.’

Today, the couple still live together at the Royal Lodge at Windsor.
